The Board of Trustees of the Philharmonic society, which governs the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, announced in September that it was necessary to suspend the 2017-18 season. The decision to be fiscally responsible and to focus this year on new paths going forward will enable the Philharmonic to establish new priorities, implement new marketing strategies, and raise the funds necessary to support a season for 2018-19. The board is actively exploring creative new options and opportunities in order to ensure the orchestra’s future.
The Philharmonic is vital to our community’s identity. Community leaders, local media, patrons and residents have expressed their deep concern that the orchestra might not have a future in NEPA. They know that without the Philharmonic, there will be a huge void in the region. Thus, there has never been a more compelling reason for our community to invest in the orchestra now.
We rely on the generosity of our good friends and patrons to help the orchestra continue to provide transformational music in our community. Simply put, we cannot do it without you! Please consider giving a gift to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic 2017-2018 Annual Fund.
