Our March concert begins with Beethoven’s well-known Egmont Overture. This inspiring work closes with a jubilant and mighty fanfare—the perfect way to celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday!
Fei-Fei Dong is the soloist for Beethoven’s stirring Emperor Piano Concerto. Formerly a winner in the famous Van Cliburn competition, the Huffington Post said this about her playing: “Dong’s unforgettable Beethoven stretched the dimensions of the music’s time and space with risk-taking rapture… It was illuminating, poetic Beethoven…” Closing the concert is Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, perhaps one of his best-known compositions and one of the most frequently played symphonies. It is widely considered one of the cornerstones of western music.
