The NEPA Philharmonic will be holding auditions for Assistant Principal Cello and Section Cello on Monday, June 5, 2023

The NEPA Philharmonic is a fully professional symphony orchestra performing Masterworks, Pops, Holiday and Young Peoples Concerts for over 50 years. The Philharmonic Orchestra is a per-service orchestra and will be offering a minimum of 21 services in the 2023-2024 Season. There is potential for additional work, including chamber music performances and educational outreach performances.

Auditions will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the First Presbyterian Church, 97 South Franklin Street, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702

Highly qualified candidates must email a resume (including current address, email address and cell phone number) by May 26th, 2023 to nepaphilauditions@gmail.com. In addition, please mail a $50.00 refundable deposit check made out to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. The deposit check will be returned to you on the day of the audition or if we receive notice of cancellation by May 31st, 2023. MASTERWORKS FINALE DISCOVERING LAURA GILBERT

You’ll enjoy Leonard Bernstein’s witty and playful Candide Overture open the program followed by the Flute Concerto by recent Pulitzer Prize Winner, Kevin Puts, featuring our own Principal Flutist, Laura Gilbert. Closing the performance is Rimsky-Korsakov’s stirring Scheherazade. 

Tickets are $36–$69 and $16 for student tickets. You must call the box office to purchase student tickets at 570-270-4444.

Grab your yoga mat and join us for our 10th annual Yoga on the Roof with Hilary Steinberg and Janelle Tench from Jaya Yoga for a one hour yoga class. A $15 donation/registration fee benefits the NEPA Philharmonic.

The 2023 Young People's Concert 4/21/2023

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic invites you to join us for our 2022-2023 Season of Discovery and our Young People’s Concert. Our 2023 YPC, The Legacy of John Williams, is scheduled for Friday, April 21st, at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre and begins at 10:30 AM. The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic along with the Board of Directors remains deeply committed to offering children in our region the opportunity to experience a Young People’s Concert. Today it is my pleasure to invite you to join us.

The Masterworks Series and Pops concerts are the cornerstone of our annual programming and consist of traditional, contemporary and holiday selections.

Hear our incredible Philharmonic players up close and personal. Broaden your knowledge of the composers you love.

As people who love music, we have an opportunity to make the study and appreciation of music relevant for our young people.

YPC

Our youth oriented live concerts with coordinating classroom materials are presented to over 3,000 students each year.

Plan Your Visit

You will see many people in the audience who dress formally, but you will also see other people who are dressed quite casually. If you would like to see typical audience attire, we suggest you visit our photo gallery.

We think the Holiday and Pops concerts are kid-friendly. There is plenty of action and stimulus to entertain a young audience. The Masterworks concerts are up to your discretion. If your child is able to sit quietly, then please bring them.

Yes. Please arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the concert to purchase tickets at the box office.
